The Last Week of School: May 18-20

END of the Year Events

GAME DAY
Monday, May 18th

Students may bring in board games and puzzles from home to play with their classmates. No electronics please!



Monday will also be RBES Hat & Shades Day!
Cost: $1.00 to wear a Hat and/or sunglasses
***Donations go to Extra Special People. 


READ-IN and OUTSIDE FUN
Tuesday, May 19th

Students may bring a pillow, blanket, and/or stuffed animal friend to read with.


We will also be spending some time outdoors. Students may bring bubbles, chalk, hula hoop, bug catchers, and jump ropes.



MOVIE DAY and END OF THE YEAR PARTY
Wednesday, May 20th



End of the Year Party 12:40-2:15

The students will be served pizza for lunch from 12:05 – 12:35 followed by activities beginning at 12:40. 

We are asking each child to send in $6 by Monday, May 18th. If you need to write a check please make it out to: Deanna Rollins. She will be purchasing the items.
(This will cover the cost of pizza, drinks, plates and napkins for lunch and ice cream, bowls, spoons, ice cream toppings, as well as all the other supplies we need for each station.)

If you would like to attend the celebration please join us at 12:05 for lunch outside and/or at 12:40 for the rotating activities until 2:15 that include a Dance Party, Cake Walk, Ice Cream Sundae Station, Outside Games, and Minute to Win it Challenge!

REPORT CARDS


Report Cards go home on Wednesday, May 20! Please check your child’s backpack. If your child has not returned their library book or has school lunch fines in the cafeteria, their report card will be held in the office until the dues are settled.

Week of May 11-15

FRIDAY, MAY 8, 2015

It is hard to believe the end of the year is here! We have many special events coming up. Here is a brief summary of what will be happening. Please let me know if you have any questions.

FIELD TRIP TO MEMORIAL PARK
Tuesday, May 12th 8:30 am-12pm

Students should wear their tie dye t-shirts.
Students may bring a bottle of water labeled with their name.

The following students signed up to bring a lunch from home (*packing it in a paper bag works best so no lunchboxes are left at the park): Jackson, Ali, McLaren, Anna, Brianna, Isaac, Maci, Gabi Riley, Garrison, Sarah, David, Brooks, Jacob, Finn, Landon, Mason

The following students signed up to get a packed school lunch: Chase, Dimitri, Kevin, Katelyn

STEP UP DAY
Wednesday, May 13, 9:45am-10:20am

The students will visit a 2nd grade class and learn about what second grade will be like!

FIELD DAY
Thursday, May 14, 8:30am -2pm

Students will participate in fun relays, games, and activities outside.
Students can wear their tie dye t-shirt or DA$H t-shirt, tennis shoes, shorts, and sunscreen. Please also send a water bottle and an extra t-shirt and shorts if your child wants to change out of their wet clothes.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP AS A FIELD DAY VOLUNTEER

Week of May 4-8

Our shirts look great. I hand-rinsed each shirt individually with hot water 
and then did a large load of laundry using the hottest water possible. 
I hope they are good now. You might want to test it before adding 
it to your laundry load at home. The kids are excited! The shirts 
will be coming home with them today. The first grade team has
 decided to wear them on the following dates:

1) May 12- Our Field Trip to Bear Hollow Zoo
2) May 14- K-2 Field Day
3) May 20- The Last Day of School!



This will be a fun way to show our class spirit 
and keep up with everyone! Thanks for the help!
