Learning Objectives
- Reading: The students will practice putting a list of words in ABC order. The students will explore text features in nonfiction books (table of content, photograph, diagram, label, bold print, glossary, index).
- Writing: Students will engage in procedural "How to" writing. Through their writing they will teach their readers how to do something they are experts at. We will continue to work on writing sentences with capital letters, spaces between words, and ending marks. We are also working on writing "juicy" sentences with adjectives, metaphors, and quotation marks.
- Math: We will finish Unit 6 with learning about solid (3-D) shapes and growing patterns. We will take our Unit 6 Assessment. Any extra pages in unit 6 of the student homework book will be a great review!
- Science: STEM Challenge---We will read Dr. Seuss' If I Ran the Zoo. Students will be creating animal catchers.
- Character: Zones of Regulation (The Zones of Regulation is a program designed to help students gain skills in consciously regulating their emotions and actions.) We will hold class meetings and work on finding positive and logical solutions to common classroom problems.
