Upcoming Events for October 24th-28th

Here’s a Sneak Peek at Next Week:

THANK YOU!
Thank you for meeting with me for parent teacher conferences! It was great to discuss your child's progress in first grade. Please keep up the hard work!

Learning Objectives

  • Reading: We will be practicing retelling a fiction story. Students will describe what happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
  • Writing: We will be researching facts about pumpkins and bats. We will write informational "teaching books" about pumpkins and bats.  We are working on writing sentences with capital letters, spaces between words, and ending marks. I encourage students to be fearless spellers. This means they sound out unknown words or look to the Word Wall for assistance.
  • Math: We will continue working on addition and subtraction story problems. We will have some with missing totals and some with missing addends.
  • Science: Our class will rotate through to each first grade teacher to learn about different fall topics (spiders, bats, scarecrows, pumpkins, and skeletons).
  • Character:  Anti-Bullying lessons
