Upcoming STEM Project

In preparation for our next STEM unit: Building an Animal Habitat we are collecting shoe boxes and building materials. Each student will be a creating diorama (at school) that will represent the habitat for their animal. The students will research facts and become experts on their animal during our writing time.

Challenge: You have recently been hired to be the new zoologist at Memorial Park Zoo. New animals are on their way! It is your job to create a diorama model of what the animal's habitat will look like before the builders get to work creating the actual space. Remember animals depend on their habitat to meet their basic needs. Are you up for the challenge?

Every student will need a shoe box and any other materials that would be helpful in creating their habitat by Monday, March 30. You can send your child's shoe box and building materials in a bag to school that is labeled with their name. We will do the constructing at school.
